10 Things I Would Buy For Our Homeschool With $100
Now this all adds up to more than $100 so I would have to make some choices and narrow down the list. But to start with, here’s a list of ideas. A hodgepodge, of course:

1. An electric pencil sharpener. One that is durable and could withstand the Hodgepodge! Because if ever there was something that sidetracks math, it is finding a sharpened pencil – with an eraser! And this one is called the powerhouse. Have y’all found one that stands up to abuse?

4. A History of US: Ten-Volume Set – this is such a wonderful resource! Part of our Tapestry of Grace studies and simply a delight to use. We’ve borrowed them over and over from the library and from friends. I’d love for them to be a permanent fixture here.

5. Chalkboard paint – can never have too much of that! Because we love all things chalkboard (Our IKEA and Chalkboard Homeschool Room)

6. A Kitchen Aid Slow Cooker – yes this is more than $100 but that would make a big dent in it. Not really a homeschool tool but one that makes homeschooling and feeding the family possible! And since we are replacing our slow cooker once or twice a year because of how often we use it (we just wear them out), I have heard that these are awesome and stand up to much use and abuse. 7. National Audubon Society First Field Guides – these have been around our house from the early years of homeschooling. Such favorites! Especially with my eldest son. Birds, mammals, night sky, weather, wildflowers, reptiles and more. There are one or two we lack to finish our collection. I highly recommend these! Nana recorded herself reading several of them. My son would sit with the stack of books and read along with her. I am convinced this helped him learn to read. It was great for him since he is an auditory learner.

8. Chalkboard markers – because I’ve always wanted some for our chalk art inspirational sayings. And I think it would help motivate children to practice cursive handwriting.

10. Artist’s Loft Acrylic Art Starter Set – this is the brand we find at our local Michael’s Craft Store. And we love ‘forever paints’ (as Lil’ Buddy calls them – because they stay forever) to paint whatever we fancy – or one of Nana’s acrylic art tutorials!

I always have items in my cart or on my wish list for Amazon. Right now I have some canning supplies and cookbooks in my cart, waiting to be funded. 🙂
Love how you snuck in the slow cooker! I must then add an outdoor swing, a lawn chair and a shady tree all conveniently close together. I sit, she swings; I read, she listens; I hang maps and art work in the tree, she looks and learns. Couldn’t live with out it. Sounds like time to write a Habits post.
Books on tape, water color paper, some new educational games, organic snack pack for treats
I would get a pencil sharpener , beanbag chairs… But a lamp! Our ovethead was pulled down by tiny elves in the night ;). A new blender for green shakes in the am. A bookshelf at ikea . Um… Ok way over 100 but it was fun .
I guess an extra hour for rosary and special prayer intentions! An extra hour together with a God!
Books, of course! Lots more living books 🙂
I would buy some books specific to the needs of my kids. I would also but art supplies and games.
I’d split it up and let my kids have $25 each. Who knows what they’d come up with and it’d be a nice little lesson in budgeting! Sr
I would buy new furniture for our homeschool room and a nice wall map.
If I won the Amazon card, I would buy a laminator. I have been borrowing a friends for over a year. I need water cups for everyone in the house so I would buy Contigo cups. I would probably by some puzzles and educational board games from my wish list. Or I’d just scrap all those ideas and put the $100 to a Kitchen Aid mixer that I have been wanting for 5+ years.
I would have to say that I would buy books and some more art supplies.

I’d buy some books I’ve been wanting. And maybe a clock for the school room. Fun!
I would buy the next book of Mathematical Reasoning from the Critical Thinking Co. My kiddos are still quite young and working our way nice and easy through the alphabet and their sounds. I think I would find a set of pre-cut felt letters for our felt board to help them form words when the time comes. And some more laminator pouches… I go through those so quickly! There are lots of things homeschool I could spend $100 on! I could actually purchase some art supplies and a few more books for literature. Probably could even start getting some binders and things too!

I would buy a Galaxy Tab 4 for homeshooling.
I would buy lots of books, art supplies, a good pencil sharpener, and the biggest box of pencils I can find! We cannot keep up with pencils around here! 🙂

We have a bunch of American Revolution books sitting on our wish list that we’d love to add to the library at home, and also a new globe which includes South Sudan.

There are a bunch of books on my amazon wishlist that I would buy right. I also need some organizational items for all the stuff we already have.
My daughter has been wanting some art supplies (especially pastels); we also need some textbooks.

A good pencil sharpener is on our want list. We successfully ran our 2nd electric sharpener into the ground and are currently using little handheld sharpeners.

I would buy a grain mill! Having a kid who NEEDS to avoid gluten gets expensive. I’ve been pricing grain mills so we can grind or own flours!

I’d start my $100 off with toner for the printer. Seems we can’t keep enough of that around. Next up would be –well, I guess the toner probably wiped out any other ideas! If anything was left I still dream of getting a Berkey water filter system some day.

I’ve got a LONG book list and with so much of our books in storage we could use a new round of books. I know the library has free ones but its just something about having them in my hands not worrying about ripping them, losing them, or turning them in late!
I would get art supplies, as i am really lacking in that part of school. I would also get a diffuser so i could diffuse a focus or calming blend on those crazy days of school. These are just to name a few…..there are many more things, like a microscope.

Hi Trish, it’s been ages since I’ve left you a comment. Doesn’t mean I haven’t been by for a visit. I find now we are in the high school years, time is something of a precious commodity. Besides what curriculum we do at home, my daughter is taking some classes outside the home this year. She’s also still doing her Irish dancing which keeps us super duper busy. Although she broke her foot at dance class in January and was out for almost 10 weeks. She just started back about a month ago. Anyhoo…I digress. This Amazon gift card giveaway is really awesome. I would buy the Mercy Watson book set for my budding reader, some Berenstein books for my preschooler, fill out our Sandra Boynton collection for the toddler, add in a larger set of chalk pastels and some Colorix crayons, and whatever was left I’d spend on Christmas/Easter books.

We eat jars upon jars of that stuff!! I have a kid with a serious peanut allergy. Glad I found your blog!
Those huge tubs of SunButter are THE way to go! The small jars are much more expensive. And we have no problem going through a 5 lb tub. It takes up about the same amount of space in the fridge as a gallon of milk. So we just make sure we make room!
I would probably buy a bookshelf. I made a few great scores on used books and my current shelves are overflowing.

We love Sunbutter too! With 2 peanut allergies in our house, it is a staple! I would invest books. I would even do ‘canning equipment’ as I’ve always wanted to learn to make our own jellies and jams. Quality Art Supplies would be another wish – we’re still in the crayola phase…
