Ode to Coffee

 

 

COFFEE

 

That warm creamy Vanilla-Caramel  cup of goodness.

You are to me relaxation and peacefulness in liquid form.

 

I prefer you when you are full of that most special part of you, though if I have to, I will take you when you’re not quite yourself.

I need you in the morning, it may still be a need and not just a want when I have you in the afternoon.

 

When evening comes and my day is almost at an end, it just isn’t the same if I don’t have you once again.

Oh, to hold you in my hand, to breathe in your scent, to take that first sip, is to me a most extraordinary moment.

 

Thank You Heavenly FATHER for creating the special bean that is the foundation of this treasure, and for giving someone the idea for this amazing substance of which I speak.

History of Coffee

The history of coffee goes at least as far back as the thirteenth century. The story of Kaldi, the 9th-century Ethiopian goat herder who discovered coffee while searching for his goats, did not appear in writing until 1671 and is probably apocryphal.^[1] From Ethiopia, coffee was said to have spread to Egypt and Yemen.^[2] The earliest credible evidence of either coffee drinking or knowledge of the coffee tree appears in the middle of the fifteenth century, in the Sufi monasteries of Yemen.^[1] By the 16th century, it had reached the rest of the Middle East, Persia, Turkey, and northern Africa. Coffee then spread to Balkans, Italy, and to the rest of Europe, to Indonesia, and then to America.^[3]
