I have moments of reflection all throughout the day………….”Oh, why did I say that, or do that, why am I home schooling =), what’s for dinner, what do I want to teach my kids, what is God trying to teach me”………….I do believe that the Holy Spirit directs me to most of the moments of reflection in my life. Some times it’s a fleeting thought and there are some things that have to be contemplated long and hard. What I know without a shadow of a doubt is for these moments of reflection to truly benefit me I have to be willing to listen and obey the Holy Spirit. I believe that God brings these moments for so many reasons; such as learning to trust Him more, really learning how to walk in His ways, to bring us to repentance, show us the way to go and what to do!! I think that Christians, married couples, parents, sons, daughters, brother, sisters, friends, ministers, teachers, that we all need to have the Habit of Reflection…….we need to ponder, think on, meditate, contemplate, consider our actions, thoughts, words, ideas, plans, curriculum, entertainment, what we eat and drink, teach, watch, listen to, etc. in the LIGHT of HIS WORD! We can all be better off for it, no matter what roles we play out, in this precious life He has given us!!
Psalm 49:3 (Amplified Bible) My mouth shall speak wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be understanding.
Psalm 19:14 (Amplified Bible) Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my [firm, impenetrable] Rock and my Redeemer.
Psalm 104:34 (Amplified Bible) May my meditation be sweet to Him; as for me, I will rejoice in the Lord.
Psalm 119:97 (Amplified Bible)Oh, how love I Your law! It is my meditation all the day.
Reflection: contemplation (a long and thoughtful observation): a calm, lengthy, intent consideration (**Meditation: 1. the act of meditating; contemplation; reflection)
