The following is a post from my blog from last December. I want to share this with you to remind you how faithful God is! And what better time, than just a few days before Christmas!
Philippians 4:19
This morning on the way to the grocery store my van started acting up, so I made it most of the way back home and pulled into a parking lot when I thought it would go no more. Phil loaded the boys up in the truck and came to pick me up.
I told Phil that I had just paid the mortgage so the bank account is low. I prayed and prayed that it would not be more than $100 as this is the amount of cash Phil had. As Phil left to go try to get the van started, a neighbor offered to tow it home for $25 if we needed him to, this took a huge load off. Fortunately, Phil was able to get the van home. Diagnosis, a bad battery. Thank you Lord…the $100 should be enough to cover a new battery! So I followed Phil to Advance Auto and they ran the diagnostics computer and determined it needed a new alternator. Oh boy! I thought. Well, I guess the van will just have to wait until Phil’s next paycheck.

In the meantime…. I took the boys in the truck and dropped Thomas off at church and Timothy, Tracy and I went to Publix to pick up the groceries I was not able to get earlier this morning. As we were walking into the store (one we do not normally shop) a lady stopped me and said “I have something for you.” So I stopped and she handed me a $100 bill and said “God bless you”. In the time it took me to say thank you, she was gone! I prayed over and over for that lady, I didn’t know what else to do. So I prayed that she would feel the blessings she gave us for being obedient to God, that God would bless her even more!
I was picking myself up off the floor from shock when Phil called and told me that it was going to be $200 to buy the part for the van…Yes, you heard that right…$200. That’s the $100 Phil had plus the $100 the lady gave me! There is no question in my mind that God sent that money to us.

This afternoon Phil took the bad alternator to the parts store and to our surprise it was still under warranty! So the van will not cost us anything to repair, just some labor on my handy husband’s part 🙂
Because we do not have to put the money into the van, we now have the money needed to buy Timothy his glasses that I thought would have to wait. I have absolutely no doubt that this blessing was from God and that He had a plan for it, it was just not what we first thought, it was for something even dearer to him…one of His children!
My God is an awesome God!
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:19
Thank you Heidi for sharing this precious testimony. God is so faithful all the time to take care of us and meet all of our needs according to His riches in glory. I have been blessed in unexpected ways before; it is so awesome to be blessed and to have the privilege of being used to be a blessing. Merry Christmas to your precious family!
Yes, He does take care of us and this is just one of the many examples in my life! You are so right, blessings whether given or received are awesome! I hope you and yours have a very merry Christmas as well!
Tears of joy! Oh the surprises – and provisions at every turn! Thank you, Heidi.
This story never gets old!
Amen, Amen and Amen!!
