A Friendship that Refreshes the Soul

Just as lotions and fragrance give sensual delight,
a sweet friendship refreshes the soul.~~Proverbs 27:9

Isn’t that beautiful! The idea that we will be REFRESHED from our friendships. I can testify to that very fact. A ‘sweet’ friendship involves one you can completely be yourself with, one you can trust, one that will forgive without hesitation, one that will listen with out judgment, one that will love without conditions and one that will offer up prayers to the Father on your behalf.

A ‘sweet’ friendship is a true gift from God and he does use it to REFRESH our soul. Isn’t He so good to do that for us. I pray that you have these very friendships in your life, and that you do receive the full benefit from them that God intends for you. May we never take our friends for granted and may the friendship that we offer REFRESH another soul.

It IS such a blessing to have a sweet friendship. I am fortunate to have a few. When I write emails or leave messages, I sometimes say “Hi, sweet friend or Hi, dear friend” I wasn’t familiar with the verse you shared am excited that you pointed it out to me! I have a feeling that the ladies who write for Habits are those kind of friends. 🙂

      Melanie,
The translation I chose to place in the post was the Message bible but no matter the translation it speaks the same truth……..that a sweet friendship is refreshing!!! =)
