It’s not always easy to find hours upon hours to get lost in art. But, Erin shares art for homeschool moms so you can relax and have fun! She has found that it’s far easier to take small chunks of time or mini moments while the children are otherwise occupied.
She says about 5-10 minutes, folks. 20 minutes at the most. Yet those 5-10 minutes are so precious for a mom’s self-care.
Art For Homeschool Moms: Relax and Have Fun! with Erin Vincent
Here are some great ideas for art for homeschool moms from Erin:
Mini Moments for Homeschool Moms with Chalk Pastels – Even busy homeschool moms can appreciate the simplicity and ease of chalk pastels. No super long supply list is needed! Just a starter set of chalk pastels, a pack of construction paper, and a few moments is all that is required for a mom to reconnect with herself and her love of art.
Art for the Homeschool Mom (with tips for how to add more art to your day) – “…often, I’ll look up and marvel at that perfect shade of blue or that exquisite rainbow of sunset colors that crescendo into a brilliant orange. I’ll draw the children’s attention to those masterstrokes of magnificence. Then I wonder if I could recreate that perfection with my art supplies.
I’m not a professional artist, but I love color. Sometimes I feel drawn to lines and forms while using a rainbow of colors. It’s therapeutic for me. I can feel my heart sing as the reds, blues, yellows, and greens begin to take on a life of their own. They begin to blend, mix, and swirl to create varying shades of new colors, and the joy I feel cannot be understated.
It is good for my soul and my kiddos to see my happiness in those moments...”
From Nana: Art is For Parents Too! In this podcast, Nana asks, Do you hear the knocking on your heart? It’s the call to create! Did you hear the description of how a pastel chalk whooshes across a sheet of paper? Nana chats with you about how you, too, can paint. You ARE an Artist!
