If I couldn’t tell it was fall by the weather I surely could tell it by the busy. It’s fair season. Each year we submit art work and flower entries in the North Georgia State Fair. When we went this week to enter our flowers, we saw that the children’s chalk pastels had received ribbons for their age categories! Eldest girl was awarded 3rd place for her fruit bowl, Middle Girl received 3rd place for her lily pad, and Littlest Girl was awarded second place for her tree reflection. Participating in the state fair is always fun! Everyone gets a participation ribbon for every entry plus a return entry ticket. We all love to go see the animals and ride the rides.
This week we’ve also been spending a good chunk of each school day working on Science Fair projects. Four out of five are entering projects this year and the Science Fair is just a week from tomorrow. It’s a hodgepodge of topics spread out all over the house! I look forward to sharing more about each one in future weeks.
Here’s a photo collage snapshot of the week…

Preschooler and Kindergartener: 1. Hugs on a Sunday afternoon | 2. Transportation Cooperation with blocks | 3. Pre-K Slow and Steady Get Me Ready activity of the week had us giggling!
Helpful Habit: Keeping up the habit of sharing a helpful habit on Fridays. We have been enjoying all the outside time we can spare (as you might could tell from last Friday’s late afternoon GA red clay party, above?) Take it Outside! at Habits for a Happy Home. Your homeschool, your lunch your supper. Soak up the fall days while you can! Even if you get muddy 🙂
Guess what I get to do today? My high school friend – who now lives in Texas – is coming to Georgia for her college reunion. This fellow homeschooling mom of three boys is going to visit with me here this afternoon. We haven’t seen each other in a dozen years – or maybe 14, we can’t remember. I’m so excited to see her!
Be sure to stop by and visit other Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers. Aren’t you glad Kris hosts us each week? These weekly wraps sure help me to reflect on our learning. How was your week, friends?

Hi Tricia! What a wonderful week! Congratulations to your artists on their ribbons for their lovely art. Camera Phone Friday sounds fun, but I have no idea how to get my phone photos to my blog. I’m a techno-failure! Have a fab time with your high school friend. Blessings!
