Habit of Morning Prayer

Psalm 63:1 O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you……..

Psalms 55:17 Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.

Psalm 88:13 But to You I have cried out, O LORD, And in the morning my prayer comes before You.

Psalms 119:147 I rise before the dawning of the morning, And cry for help; I hope in Your word.
*********************************
Oh, Lord may I always seek you in the morning, may my soul always thirst and long for you. Stir me to always bring my boys, your precious creations, early in the morning to their heavenly Father and their Saviour. May their young souls taste and see that you are good! Then they will always thirst for you, long to be with you ! To draw near to you as you draw near to them in the very first moments of their day!!
***********************************
I have always prayed with my boys in the morning (o.k. we have missed some days) but I was recently stirred by the Holy Spirit to come with my boys to our Father as soon as the boys wake up each day. I want and need the peace and joy that comes from being with HIM. I want the boys to know that and to learn how much better it is when you start your day being with HIM!! So my day starts by getting up between 5:00-6:00am. I have my quiet time with the Lord (and some time on the computer=) and when I hear the stirrings of my boys as they wake for a new day I light the candles on and above our prayer bench (it is also our ‘place of peace’). As soon as they are both awake, we move to the prayer bench, kneel and “start our day right” in the presence of our Lord!!
The Habit of Morning Prayer is now essential to our day!!

Oooo. I bet the boys love lighting the candles 🙂 What a beautiful way to start the day.
