Pay It Forward

I was the happy recipient of a lovely Pay It Forward package from Phyllis and her family at All Things Beautiful. I have to tell you that I’ve always heard of friendships forged over the internet. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Phyllis in the Charlotte Mason and Outdoor Hour Challenge communities we share. Plus, she and her family love Nana’s pastel tutorials. Phyllis inspires me and is a friend of my heart. Not only do I look forward to her posts but she and I share the love of learning, counting blessings, making and creating, baking and, of course celebrating! And, one day, I’m going to get to hug her neck for real! But for now {{cyber hugs}} and a big thank you!!
So, when Phyllis posted on the Pay It Forward package she received and then asked for three participants for her to pay it forward, I raised my hand high. How exciting to get a real package in the mail from our friends!!
Let me share with you what was inside. Are you as excited as I was? (You will be hearing more about these items in future posts!) First of all, these hand painted shells from her daughter, Katie, caught our eye first thing. Hold them tight and you can just imagine your toes in the sand. Aren’t they beautiful? I love the wave details of the sailboat shell. And look at the one on the left – at how she touched the outside of the shell with ocean colors.
Next, my crafty girl went for the black-eyed susan craft. It’s the state flower of Phyllis’ home in Maryland. My youngest boy loved the crinkly, gold paper everything was wrapped in.
And, look, cooking fun! Special biscuits from New England.
And how did Phyllis know what my spice cabinet was lacking? See the recipe? Oh, my. More on that later.
The one and only guideline for the Pay It Forward fun is that as a recipient you must also Pay It Forward to three people of your choice. There are also no rules about what you can and can’t send. Just think of something to brighten someone’s day.
If you would like to participate and get a package from us at Hodgepodge, all you need to do is comment on this post stating that you would like to join in the fun, and leave a way I can contact you and I will send something out to the first three. You can send me your address privately by clicking that little envelope email icon at the top right.
So you wanna play?

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

Cyber-hugs to all of you, too! We had so much fun making this package and sending it. (By the way, the biscuits are not from New England, but are a small local tradition on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where we live. You probably can’t even get them on the Western shore of Maryland! :)They are a little tough so that they can be dunked in crab soup or oyster stew -sort of like a very large oyster cracker) Take care, my friends.

This looks fantastic!! I would say yes, but I think it would be more fun for your family to send a package to someone farther away =)
