Seeing the Beautiful Things

“Time is a very precious gift of God; so precious that it’s only given to us moment by moment.” ~ Amelia Barr

From my gratitude list this last week, the beautiful things I’ve noticed, moment by moment…

2309. A girl with her Daddy’s picture in her wallet.

2310. The same girl accompanying him to a ham radio show.

2311. The things she says these days. The talks we have.

2312. Reading the same book over and over because it’s his favorite.

2313. Hearing the squeak of the backyard swing.

2314. Just a small spot of quiet on a Sunday afternoon.

2315. Signs of spring and the official day is really here!

2316. Date nights. The almost full moon with the city lights.

2317. Nana’s date night ministry.

2318. Leg hugs. (counting that one again and again.)

2319. New hair cuts.

2320. Talented aunt and her beautiful puzzles.

2321. My brother’s updates from the road he was traveling for work. Following him for a geography lesson as we did in Automobiles and Airplanes.

2322. The colors of a solar system model.

2323. Sweeping, sweeping, sweeping and sweeping again – because it means they are all enjoying the sunshine and shaking off some of the outside – inside.

2324. Encouraging friends – those I can hug and those in the blogosphere I wish I could hug!

2325. This is a biggie  – Hodgepodgedad and how he does the grocery shopping.

2326. Youngest girl taking Tuesday’s voting trip as an opportunity to read as many signs as possible.

2327. Sitting next to eldest boy in big church.

2328. This, that the pastor read, that brought applause from everyone.

2329. The parenting challenges. Without them, would we really get on our knees as much?

2330. Dirty knees from the ‘big construction site.’

Go after a life of love as if your life depended on it – because it does. Give yourselves to the gifts God gives you. Most of all, try to proclaim his truth. 1 Corinthians 14:1 The Message

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.
