A couple of weeks ago my boys and I went for a walk and we were looking for any signs of spring. I do not know about you but I am truly ready for Spring!! I am so ready to see color, to have warm (but not hot) days, to see butterflies dancing all around, to see new birds in the air, to find nest with eggs and to see flowers again! Though with spring comes spider webs, spiders, gnats, you know all the bugs start coming out to play, days where it feels more like summer than spring, pollen, allergies, sneezing, runny nose, and my least favorite the snakes are waking up.
A new season for the earth, is like a new season in my life. I can be so excited about a situation or circumstance I find myself in or I know that is coming. I can also be so ready for a change cause I am tired of the season I am in but yet, my flesh usually already has a prepared list of complaints about the new season as well. So many times while I am living out a certain season I complain about what I don’t like and find myself thinking longingly for the new season to get here. Then when the new season arrives I immediately start in on what I don’t like about it.
Not only am I excited that the physical Spring is showing signs of coming and staying with us, I am excited because I also know that spiritually a new season is coming in my life. I know God is doing a good thing in me and part of that is that no matter what physical season of the earth I am living in or what season God has called me to in my life, I am going to live out (because of HIS grace and power) these amazing words………….
Philippians 4:7 (Amplified Bible)
7And God’s peace [shall be yours, that [a]tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall [b]garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:11 (Amplified Bible)
11Not that I am implying that I was in any personal want, for I have learned how to be [a] content (satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or disquieted) in whatever state I am.

What an encouragement this morning. I am in a season of waiting – one for my health – and one for hubby’s job. The health wait takes time for the medicines to work, the body to heal. I am finding great strength and peace just knowing where I am today – weak – and in His healing hands. I appreciate your Admonition regarding the Job. Yes, we are ready to be done with this season of it, and yes we see rays of sun coming from the turn. And yet, I can give you a list 10 long of what I don’t like about this part, and 10 things I’m not lookin forward to in the change. You may have found another stress trigger for me that I have created myself. Thank you sweet forward friend!

What a great parallel – so true! We’re often so busy looking for the next thing that we forget to enjoy and learn from where we’re at. We need to squeeze the juice out of the lemon before we throw it away. How else will we make lemonade? Thanks, Angie!

I love this Angie. That longing for the better spiritual spot is always there isn’t it? Yet, as you pointed out for us, He gives us just enough light for the step we are on and the yearning to keep on going.
