How to Make Memories this Spring with Fun Homeschool Ideas

Here are some ideas for how to make memories this spring with fun homeschool ideas. It seems to me that we are always talking about making memories with our children during the summer. Or over the Christmas holidays. But memory-making lasts year ’round. Spring can be the time to burst outside and enjoy. To build a new tradition.

Each day of our lives we make deposits in the memory banks of our children. ~ Charles R. Swindoll

Annual Azalea Photo – pick a spot near a beautiful blaze of spring color and make your picture with your children. Every year. Since the time I had just one child toddling about, my grandmother encouraged a habit. Each year, when the azaleas are in full bloom in front of her house, I get a phone call. “It’s time to get out the quilt!” she says. Because of her prompting, I have photos of myself with my children – almost every year – at the same time. All of us in front of her enormous and gorgeously southern pink azaleas.

This photo was taken last April. The children have already changed so much…

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.

I love the idea of taking a picture in the same spot each spring with your children! Thank you for all of the other wonderful ideas. I need to get over my dislike of MUD! :-0

Mary, I have my grandmother to thank for that lovely tradition. And her azaleas are gorgeous! She is also the one that raised three boys and one sweet girl near a creek. She helped me along – to overcome my fear of messy mud. To see the memory-making side of it all. Yes. Boots help a whole lot!
