More for Your October Homeschool

5 October Homeschool Family Fun Ideas – Hints of cooler weather tempt and tease the senses, promising the arrival of autumn in all its glory. According to the calendar, fall arrived a week or so ago, but the true splendor of the season seems to trickle in, with pumpkin sightings, scarecrow smiles, and brilliant shades of fall dangling from treetops. Pick one tree in particular to watch throughout the month of October and thank God for his beautiful creations as the tree changes.

The Fall Homeschool – As we look ahead to fall, there are so many things to consider: formal schooling, school supplies, cooler weather, and, for many, some form of harvesting or preserving. This is always an exciting time of year, full of happy and idealistic plans. Such enthusiasm is good, as long as we pair it with realism. I find it so easy to forget that there are only 24 hours in the day, that my children really do need breaks, and that the basics of life—cooking, laundry, and yard care—don’t miraculously disappear just because I forget to plan them in.

About Hodgepodgemom

Tricia faces a daily dose of chaos homeschooling five children. The biggest lesson she’s learned? At the end of the day – when the dishes are put away and the children are tucked in bed – truly what matters is each child’s relationship with the Lord. Raising children is a God-given privilege and, folks, the time is short.
